[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 18일부터 춘천 서면 유아숲체험원이 문을 열었다고 밝혔다.

사업비 1억 4천 800만 원이 투입된 서면 유아숲체험원은 애니메이션 박물관과 토이로봇관 이용자와 연계한 숲 체험 프로그램을 운영하고 있다고 했다.

유아숲체험원은 유아들이 자연과 교감하며, 숲에서 풍부한 감성과 상상력을 키울 수 있는 공간이고, 지난해까지 삼천 유아숲체험원과 석사 유아숲체험원 2곳이 운영됐으며, 자연속에서 아이들이 마음껏 상상력을 키울 수 있는 만큼 많은 호응을 받고 있다고 전했다.

시정부에 따르면 지난 2019년부터 2021년까지 유아숲체험원 방문객은 3만8,580명이고, 연도별로 살펴보면 2019년 8,257명, 2020년 1만2,960명, 2021년 1만7,363명으로 매년 증가 추세라고 했다.

올해 서면 유아숲체험원도 문을 연 만큼 방문객은 더욱 증가할 것으로 기대되며, 삼천유아숲체험원은 2㏊ 면적에 모래 놀이장, 토끼굴, 창작 놀이시설 등을 갖추고 있으며 인근에 전적기념관, KT&G 상상마당, 의암공원이 있고, 석사유아숲체험장은 0.7㏊로 다양한 숲 속 프로그램을 장난감도서관과 연계해서 제공한다고 밝혔다.

평일은 유아교육기관이 이용하며, 일반 시민은 주말에 현장 접수 또는 온라인 사전 예약을 통해 유아숲체험원을 즐길 수 있다고 전했다.
