이날 창단식에는 안병용 의정부시장을 비롯해 오범구시의회의장, 도·시의원, 김경덕 경기도태권도협회장 및 임원진 등 많은 내빈이 참석하여 자리를 빛냈다고 했다.

지난 6월, 태권도시범단 신임 감독 위촉을 시작으로 코치 2명을 포함한 지도자 선임을 완료했다고 전했다.

또한 8월, 태권도시범단원 실기시험을 실시했으며, 관내 초·중·고·대에 재학중인 총 36명의 시범단원을 최종 선발함으로써 시범단 구성을 마무리했다고 했다.

창단식은 경과보고, 위촉장 수여, 축사, 선서, 시범공연 순으로 진행됐으며, 특히 이날 시범공연을 통해 고난도 격파와 화려한 발차기 기술을 선보임으로써 태권도시범의 역동적이고 활력 넘치는 매력을 마음껏 뽐냈다고 했다.
