[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 9월 26일까지 동두천시는 추석 연휴를 맞아 환경오염 사고예방을 위한 특별감시 활동을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 감시활동은 연휴기간 폐수를 무단 배출하거나 비정상 시설 운영 등으로 인해 발생하는 환경오염 사고를 예방하기 위해 추진된다고 했다. 

1단계 지난 13일부터 18일까지는 각 사업장에 보낸 환경오염물질 배출사업장 체크리스트를 보고 사업자가 자율적으로 시설 점검토록 유도하고, 2단계 오는 19일부터 26일까지는 연휴기간 점검반을 편성해 취약시설에 대한 집중 감시 및 환경오염사고 대비 상황실을 설치·운영할 계획이라고 했다. 

시 관계자는 “추석 연휴 등 취약시기에 불법 환경오염행위가 발생되지 않도록 감시활동을 강화해 지역주민이 안심하고 추석 연휴를 보낼 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
