특히 조학수 부시장은 여성친화적 관점이 반영된 다양한 특화사업에 대한 지역사회 공감대 형성의 필요성을 역설하는 동시에 부서 간 긴밀한 협력·연계체계 구축을 요청하며 여성친화도시 재지정을 위한 굳은 결의를 다졌다고 했다.

올해는 양주시가 여성친화도시로 지정된 지 5년 차에 접어드는 해로 여성친화도시 2단계 지정 준비 등 사회적 약자를 배려하는 평등한 사회를 조성하기 위한 실효성 있는 성평등 정책을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이라고 했다.
