[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 외국인근로자의 산업현장 내 무자격 건설기계 사용으로 인한 안전사고 예방을 위한 ‘포천시 외국인근로자 소형건설기계면허취득 지원사업’ 신청을 오는 16일까지 접수한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 포천시 제조업, 농축산업 등 산업체에 근무하는 7천여 명의 외국인근로자를 대상으로 현장에서 필요한 3톤 미만 지게차, 굴삭기와 같은 건설기계 면허 취득에 따른 교육 수강료를 지원하는 사업이다. 

사업장 내 안전사고 예방과 기업의 생산성 향상 도모는 물론, 외국인근로자의 안정적인 사회 정착에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

사업 대상은 포천시에 거주하면서 포천시 산업체에 근무하는 등록된 외국인근로자들이며, 1인당 30만 원 범위 내에서 총 40명에게 지원할 계획이다. 

신청자가 많을 경우 업무 적합도, 산업체 현황, 외국인근로자 고용상황 등을 판단해 선발할 예정이다.

접수 장소는 포천시청 기업지원과 외국인근로자지원팀이며, 접수는 직접 방문하거나 전자우편, 우편으로 가능하다. 

신청은 반드시 사업체 대표 동의서를 받아야 하며, 미등록 외국인이거나 면허 취득이 실제 사업장 내 업무와 관련이 없는 근로자는 제외되고, 제출서류 및 세부내용은 포천시청 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다.

포천시 관계자는 “이번 사업은 주민참여예산 사업으로 올해 추진하는 사업이나 수요가 많고, 사업체 현장에서 호응이 좋을 경우 향후 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다”고 밝혔다.
