[김준호 기자=삼척시] 2023년 전국동시 조합장선거 투표일이 이틀 앞으로 다가오면서 삼척시 관내 6개 조합장 선거 열기가 갈수록 뜨거워지고 있다. 

 

각 후보는 혹시나 있을 흑색선전이나 네거티브 방지에도 열을 올리고 있다.  

 

앞서, 삼척시선거관리위원회는 지난달 21일 공문을 통해 선거기간 동안 "돈 선거 근절 단속 기간"으로 정하여 공정선거지원단 주·야간 순회 감시·단속 활동은 물론 광역 조사팀 및 검찰,경찰 등과 비상출동체계를 갖추는 등 감시·단속 강화를 예고했다.

 

현재, 삼척시 관내 6개 조합 모두 치열한 격전을 펼치고 있으나, 그중 가장 눈길을 끌고 있는 곳은 삼척수협 조합장 선거다. 

 

재선 조합장 프리미엄을 가지고 있는 박수진 후보는 "책임 있는, 실천하는, 효험있는 조합장"을 강조하며 선거 승리를 자신하고 있는 반면, 도전에 나선 함승준(전 비상임이사)후보는 어업인 권익과 복지 향상을 약속하며 "수협과 조합원 가치를 두 배로, 어업인 모두가 잘사는 어촌"을 만들겠다며 침체된 수협 개혁에 나섰다. 

 

하지만 이번 수협 조합장 선거에서는 자본잠식 상태였던 삼척수협의 경영 개선이 이뤄진 배경이 관심사로 떠오르며 선거판을 흔들 핵심 변수가 되고 있다.
