[김현우 기자 = 동두천] 동두천시가 저출산 대책의 하나로 출산장려금을 늘려 지원한다고 2일 밝혔다.

동두천시는 저출산이라는 높은 장벽에도 불구하고 출산 친화적인 환경 조성을 위해 출산장려금 지급액 확대 내용을 규정한 ‘동두천시 출산장려 등 지원에 관한 조례’ 일부조례개정안을 2월 중 공포 예정이다.

주요 개정 내용은 2023년 1월 1일 이후 출생아부터 적용하며 첫째아이 100만 원, 둘째아이 150만 원, 셋째아이 250만 원, 넷째아이는 500만 원(2회 분할 지급, 1회차 200만 원/2회차 300만 원)을 지원하는 내용이다.

이는 기존 첫째아이 50만 원, 둘째아이 100만 원, 셋째아이 200만 원을 지급하던 것을 각각 50만 원씩 확대하여 지급하고 넷째아이는 500만 원 지급으로 기존 지급액과 동일하나 분할 지급 횟수를 3회에서 2회(1회차 200만 원/2회차 300만 원)로 줄여 출산가정의 경제적 부담을 완화한다. 

다만 지원 대상자(부 또는 모)에 대한 동두천시 거주기간 1년 충족 및 대상 영아와 동일 세대원이어야 하는 요건은 기존과 동일하다. 

장려금 신청은 출생신고 시 해당 주민등록지 동 행정복지센터에서 가능하며, 신청한 다음 달 15일 동두천사랑카드(지역화폐)로 지급된다.
