[서종협 기자 = 평창군] 민주평화통일자문회의 평창군협의회(회장 최동률)가 지난 10월26일부터 28일까지 자문위원 18명이 참석한 가운데 울릉도와 독도를 방문하여 통일의 염원을 담은 워크숍을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍에서 민주평통 평창군협의회는 독도경비대에 후원물품을 전달하고, 울릉도와 독도의 지리와 역사를 이해는 계기를 마련하였다.

또한, 최동률 회장은 “10.25. 독도의 날을 기념하여 평창군 자문위원이 대한민국 영토 수호와 한반도 평화통일을 위한 역할을 수행하는데  필요한 역량을 함양하고자 이번 워크숍을 추진하게 되었다.”고 밝혔다.
