[김준호 기자 = 동해시]  동해시는 친환경 생태도시 조성을 위해 오는 7일 시청 2층 회의실에서 지휘부 및 관련 부서장, 자문위원, 용역사 관계자 등 30여명이 참석한 가운데, 착수보고회 가질 예정이라고 1일 밝혔다. 

이번 용역은 지역 내 다양한 동·식물의 서식 공간을 유형별로 분류하여 보전가치 생태현황지도를 제작해, 체계적이고 효율적인 생태도시 조성을 위해 실시된다.

자연환경보전법에 따라 5년마다 의무적으로 작성해야 하는 도시생태 현황지도는 도시의 자연 및 환경생태적 특성과 가치를 반영한 정밀공간 생태정보 지도다.

용역이 완료되면 토지이용도를 비롯한  각종 유형도와 생태적 특성과 가치를 등급화하는 평가도 등 다양한 생태현황 지도가 만들어진다.

정보화 시스템이 구축되면,  각종 도시개발계획 수립·시행과 환경성 검토 등 다양한 분야에 기초자료로 활용돼 환경파괴 예방과 환경친화도시 조성 등에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
