[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천문화원은 지난 16일, 동두천중앙고등학교 체육관에서 제50회 성년의 날 기념 전통 성년례식을 개최했다고 전했다.

동두천중앙고등학교 3학년 100여명과 정순욱 동두천시 부시장, 정경철 문화원장 등이 참석했다.

동두천문화원이 주최하고 동두천예절원이 주관한 이번 행사는 미래를 짊어지고 나갈 청소년들에게 성년으로서의 사회적 책임과 의무의 중요성을 심어주고자 마련되었다고 했다.

동두천문화원에서는 우리의 소중하고 우수한 전통문화를 계승·발전시키기 위해 다양한 사업을 펼치고 있으며, 특히 성년의 날 행사를 비롯해 문화학교, 향토유적답사 등 청소년들을 대상으로 활발한 문화사업을 진행하고 있다고 밝혔다.
