[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 환경부 소속 원주지방환경청은 오는 4월 19일, 21일 양일간 ‘2022년 강원‧충북 시‧군 환경 부서장 회의’를 원주 인터불고 호텔, 원주지방환경청에서 각각 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 회의에는 원주지방환경청*과 강원도‧충청북도 및 23개 시‧군**의 환경․하천 분야 부서장이 참석해 물관리 일원화 및 탄소중립 이행방안과 지역 환경현안에 대해 논의한다고 했다.

회의는 중앙-지방 환경 협력 체계 구축과 지역 환경현안 해결방안 모색 및 시‧군 건의사항 등에 대해 의견을 교환하는 순으로 진행된다고 전했다.

원주지방환경청은 국가하천사업 유지관리 협조, 국고보조사업 집행률 제고 등 환경 현안 과제를 설명하고 지자체의 의견과 적극적인 협력을 요청한다고 했다.

특히, 국가적 과제인 탄소중립 본격이행, 물관리 역량 강화를 위한 원주청 2022년 주요 추진과제를 발표한다고 전했다. 

주요 추진과제로는 탄소흡수원으로의 토양‧식생 가치 제고, 지역사회의 탄소중립 이행 확산, 지역 하천의 건강성 제고, 국민이 체감할 수 있는 맑은 하늘 조성, 건강하고 안전한 생태환경 조성, 지역사회와 통하는 환경거버넌스 구축 등 6개 과제를 제시한다고 했다. 

시·군에서는 환경업무를 추진하면서 발생되는 현장의 문제점과 개선방안을 비롯하여 시급한 지역 환경사업을 설명하며 원주지방환경청과 해결방안을 함께 모색한다고 전했다.

이창흠 원주지방환경청장은 “지역사회와의 소통과 협력을 통해 지역이 당면한 환경문제를 해결하고 지역 물관리 역량과 탄소중립 이행을 확산해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
