[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시의회는 3월 18일부터 오는 3월 22일까지 5일간의 일정으로 제316회 동해시의회 임시회를 개회했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 임시회에서는 시정질문을 통해 지역 현안을 공유하여 합리적이고 발전적인 대안을 제시하고 각종 의안을 심의하게 된다고 전했다.

김기하 의장은 “장기화된 코로나19 사태에 더해 그 어느 때보다 불안하고 힘든 상황을 이어가고 있는 시민들을 위로하고, 산불로 인한 관광객 감소 등 지역경제에 2차 피해가 발생하지 않도록 대책을 마련하는데 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.

임응택 의원은 “장애인이 지역사회의 일원으로서, 자립생활을 통해 자신의 삶을 스스로 선택하고 결정하며 살아갈 수 있도록 행정적·재정적으로 지원해야한다”며 「동해시 장애인 자립생활 지원 조례안」을 제안했다. 

최석찬 의원과 박남순 의원은 “반려인구 증가로 반려동물 장례문화가 확산하는 추세이며 이에 따라 동물화장장의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 반려동물, 유기견, 기타 동물 공공화장터 설립을 검토해야한다”고 한목소리를 냈다.

이정학 의원은 “동해시 수소산업 활성화를 위한 기반 조성을 위하여 각종 기술개발 추진·수소위원회 구성 등 체계적인 준비로 수소산업 육성을 성공적으로 추진하기 바란다”고 당부했다.

한편, 오는 21일에는 이창수 의원, 이정학 의원, 임응택 의원의 시정질문이 예정되어 있으며, 이창수 의원은 북평화력발전소 건설 관련, 협약사업 이행내역 등 3건, 이정학 의원은 한섬개발업무 진행현황 및 향후계획 등 2건, 임응택 의원은 순세계잉여금 발생내역 및 사유 등 10건에 대해 질의한다고 전했다.
