[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시의회는 14일 현충탑참배를 시작으로 의회 본회의장에서 제9대 의회 공식 출범을 알리는 개원식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 개원식은 8명의 시의원과 심규언 동해시장을 비롯한 관계공무원, 지역 유관기관장 등 100여명이 참석했다.

시의원들은 의원선서를 통해 법령을 준수하고 주민의 권익신장과 복리 증진 및 지역사회의 발전을 위하여 의원의 직무를 양심에 따라 성실히 수행할 것을 약속하고 선서문에 서명했다.

이어 직무를 성실히 수행해 시민으로부터 신뢰를 받을 수 있도록 5개 항목으로 규정된 ‘의원윤리강령’을 낭독했다.

이동호 의장은 개원사를 통해 “주민이 만족하는 신지방자치 정립의 새 역사를 시작하는 제9대 동해시의회가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로의 4년 동안 제9대 동해시의회 의원 모두 생산적이고 활동적인 현장 중심의 의정활동을 펼치겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 새롭게 출범한 제9대 시의회는 14일 오후 2시 제322회 임시회 제1차 본회의에서 특별위원회 구성 건 등 각종 의안 심의를 시작으로 21일까지 부서별 업무보고 등 8일간의 의정활동을 본격적으로 시작할 예정이다.
