[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 15일 원주지방환경청은 2021년 강원‧충북지역 하천수 수질모니터링 결과, 총 62개 지점 중 57개 지점(92%)이 “매우좋음(Ia)” 또는 “좋음(Ib)”으로 평가됐다고 밝혔다.

나머지 5개 지점(8%)은 보통(II, III) 이상의 수질을 유지하고 있는 것으로 조사됐으며, 모니터링 운영결과는 ’물환경정보시스템‘과 ’원주지방환경청 홈페이지‘에서 확인할 수 있다고 전했다. 

수질모니터링은 남한강, 북한강, 낙동강 등 5개 수계*, 26개 하천(62개 지점)에 대한 수질현황 및 추세파악을 위해 매달 총 52개 항목(BOD, COD, TN‧TP 등)에 대해 수질오염도를 조사하고 있다고 했다.

측정지점은 하천의 생활환경 기준을 적용하여 평가했으며, “좋음” 등급 이상의 수질은 생물화학적 산소요구량(BOD) 2.0 mg/L 이하로 일반적인 정수처리 후 생활용수로 사용할 수 있다고 했다.

* 남한강 수계(33개 지점), 북한강 수계(13개 지점), 한강동해 수계(12개 지점), 낙동강 수계(3개 지점), 금강수계(1개 지점)

한편, 62개 지점 중 산업단지 내에 위치한 5개 지점의 수질 모니터링 결과, 비소 등 특정유해물질 18개 항목이 모두 환경기준 이내였다고 전했다.

원주청은 산업단지 내 하천의 측정‧분석결과를 매 조사 시기마다 관내 유관기관에 통보하여 배출업소에 대한 지도‧점검 및 오염사고의 긴급대처 등의 업무에 활용토록 조치하고 있다고 했다.
