인터넷 접수 도입 이전에는 대형폐기물 배출 전화접수 대기기간이 길어 시민들의 불편이 컸지만, 인터넷 접수 이후로 불편함이 줄어 시민들에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 했다.

지난 2년 동안의 대형폐기물 운영실적을 분석한 결과, 2020년에는 전체 16,153건 중 전화 13,799건, 인터넷 2,354건이었으며, 2021년도에는 전체 19,410건 중 전화 13,492건, 인터넷 5,918건으로 인터넷 접수 비중이 크게 늘었다고 전했다.

인터넷 신청은 포털사이트 검색창에 ‘원주시 대형생활폐기물’을 검색하거나 홈페이지에 접속해 할 수 있으며, 배출정보 작성 및 수수료 결제 후 납부필증을 출력해 폐기물에 부착, 배출하면 된다고 했다.
