[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3일 환경부 원주지방환경청은 올해 관내 하수도 시설 185개 사업에 국고 1,761억원을 지원한다고 밝혔다. 

강원도 18개 시·군 116개 사업분야 1,245억원, 충청북도 5개 시·군(충주·제천·괴산·음성·단양) 69개 사업분야 516억원 등이 대상이며, 주요 사업으로는 하수처리장 설치, 하수관로 정비, 하수관로정비 BTL임대료 지급, 면단위 하수처리장 설치사업 등이 포함된다고 했다.

하수처리장 설치(농어촌지역 하수처리시설 확충, 시설물 신·증설 및 개량) 사업은 삼척시 등 22개 지자체 90개 분야에 525억 원, 면 단위 하수처리장 설치사업은 평창군 등 4개 지자체 4개 분야에 20억 원이 각각 투입된다고 했다.

하수관로정비(하수관로 신설 및 개·보수, 도시침수지역 및 노후관로 긴급정비 등)사업은 원주시 등 22개 지자체 82개 분야에 880억원, 하수관로정비BTL임대료는 충주시 등 8개 지자체 9개 분야에 336억원이 지원돼 추진된다고 했다.

올해는 지역경제 활성화를 위해 예산 조기집행을 유도하고, 꼼꼼한 실적관리를 통해 하수도 보급률 향상과 예산의 효율화를 도모할 방침이라고 했다.

해당 지자체에 1월부터 예산을 교부함으로써 조기 집행을 유도하고, 상반기 내 60% 초과 예산집행을 목표로 매월 집행실적과 사업수행 상황점검 등을 추진하며, 효과적인 예산집행을 위해 지자체의 집행 여건에 따라 국고보조금 증액 또는 삭감 등 필요한 조치도 병행한다고 전했다. 

이창흠 원주지방환경청장은 “강원·충북 지역은 산악지형 여건, 농어촌 인구 저밀도 등으로 하수도 보급률이 전국 평균 대비 낮은 상황”이라면서 “지속적인 하수도시설 확충으로 지역 수질개선과 주민 물 복지가 크게 향상될 수 있도록 행정적·재정적 지원에 최선을 다할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
