[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 28일 경기도의회 진용복 부의장은 겨울철 화재와 한파 등 재난발생 급증에 따라 일선 소방공무원을 격려하고자 용인소방서 구갈·기흥119안전센터를 방문했다고 밝혔다.

특히 경기도의회 남종섭 교육행정위원과 용인시의회 전자영 의원과 함께 차례로 구갈119안전센터와 기흥119안전센터를 방문한 진용복 부의장은 119안전센터 당면현안과 주요 소방정책에 대한 설명을 듣고 격려품을 전달하며 직원들의 애로사항을 청취하는 등 소통의 시간을 나누었다고 했다.

최근에도 성복119안전센터 신축 현장을 찾았던 진용복 부의장은 “코로나19 확산과 사건 사고가 빈번해지는 연말을 맞아 도민의 행복과 안전을 위해 불철주야 노력하는데 고생이 많다”며, “새해 인사를 건네며 앞으로도 경기도의회는 경기도 소방의 발전을 위해 지속적으로 관심을 갖는 등 소방공무원 근무환경 개선에도 적극 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

남종섭 위원장 역시 “국가직으로 전환한 소방 조직에 대해 많은 관심을 갖고 있다”며 “항상 도민이 안심할 수 있는 안전 환경 조성 및 고품질 소방서비스 제공”을 당부했다.

이어 전자영 의원은 “의용소방대와 함께 취약계층을 위한 주택용 소방시설 설치 등 화재 예방뿐만 아니라 코로나19 생활치료센터 지원으로 감염병 확산 방지와 예방접종 등을 위한 소방공무원의 역할이 매우 크다”고 말하며 “소방공무원의 건강과 안전 또한 중요하다”고 강조했다.
