[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 25일 원주지방환경청은 원주시티호텔에서 관내 비산배출시설 설치·운영 사업장 담당자를 대상으로 유해대기오염물질(HAPs)*의 저감을 위한 비산배출시설 관리제도 설명회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 설명회에서는 유해대기오염물질 비산배출 관리제도 및 법령 개정 사항, 시설관리기준 준수 요령 등을 안내할 계획이라고 전했다.

비산배출 저감 제도는 독성, 발암성, 생체축적 등의 특성을 가진 유해대기오염물질이 굴뚝을 제외한 시설·공정 등에서 방지시설을 거치지 않고 비산배출되는 것을 관리하기 위해 ‘12.5월 신설됐다고 했다.

원료 저장부터 제품 출하까지 공정 전과정에 대한 시설관리기준을 마련하여 적용함으로써 유해대기오염물질의 비산배출을 저감하고 환경상의 위해를 예방하여 보건의 질을 향상하기 위해 도입됐다고 했다.

대상업종은 「대기환경보전법」시행령 별표 9의2에서 정한 업종으로 13개 분류에 따른 39개 업종이며, 관내에는 고무 및 플라스틱제품 제조업 분류 중 플라스틱 포대, 봉투 및 유사제품 제조업, 플라스틱 적층, 도포 및 기타 표면처리제품 제조업 등이 다수 위치하고 있다고 전했다.

원주지방환경청 관계자는 “이번 설명회를 통해 사업장에서 유해대기오염물질의 저감을 위한 비산배출시설 관리제도를 더 효율적으로 이행할 수 있는 계기가 되길 바란다“고 밝혔다.
