[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7월 5일부터 8월 30일까지 동두천꿈나무정보도서관에서는 매주 월요일 총 8주간 진행된 온라인 영어 파닉스 기초 프로그램이 성황리에 끝났다고 밝혔다.

‘온라인 영어 파닉스 기초 프로그램’은 외국어 특화사업의 일환으로 접수 당시 10명 모집에 30여 명이 접수하여 치열한 경쟁률을 보였으며, 추첨을 통해 선정된 7~9세 수강생 10명은 8주간 100% 가까운 출석률을 자랑하며 적극적으로 수업에 참여하였다고 했다. 

수업을 진행한 박은선 영어 강사는 “온라인으로 하는 영어수업이라 처음에는 말도 못해 어색해 하던 수강생들이 시간이 지나며 차츰 먼저 인사도 하고 발음도 좋아지는 등 성장하는 모습을 보며 가르치는 보람을 느꼈다”고 했다. 

한 수강생 학부모는 “선생님이 잘 알려주셔서 매우 만족하고 아이도 재미있게 배웠다”며 소감을 밝혔다.

도서관 관계자는 “이 수업으로 수강생들이 영어를 쉽고 재미있게 배우는 계기가 되었길 바란다”며 “배운 내용을 토대로 다모아자료실에 비치된 노부영(노래를 부르는 영어 동화)과 베오영(베스트 오디오 영어동화)를 적극 활용하길 바란다”고 전했다.
