[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 18일 의정부시는 저소득층의 자립을 위한 자활사업의 일환으로 자활기업 ‘CU 한주점’ 개점식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

의정부시는 일반 노동시장으로 진입이 어려운 국민기초생활수급자 및 차상위계층을 위한 자활사업을 시행하고 있으며, 자활사업은 저소득층에게 근로 기회를 제공하여 취업의욕을 높이고 직장생활에 필요한 기초능력을 습득할 수 있도록 지원하는 경과적 일자리 성격을 지닌다고 했다.

자활기업 CU 한주점은 기존 자활사업단인 편의점 사업단 1~4호점의 근무자 중 3명이 창업을 한 것으로 우수한 기업의 경영 기술과 기법 연수를 통하여 자활사업 참여자들의 창업사례로 자활자립의 좋은 사례가 될 것이라고 했다. 

남윤현 복지정책과장은 “저소득층 주민에게 현금성 복지를 지원하는 데 그치는 것이 아닌 스스로 자립을위한 기반을 마련할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”라고 말했다.
