[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 5일 포천시 소흘읍 행정복지센터는 세계환경의 날을 맞아 고모호수공원 둘레길에서 조깅하며 쓰레기를 줍는 환경 보호 운동인 ‘플로깅 데이’ 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

‘플로깅 데이’는 계속되는 코로나19로 지친 주민들의 우울감을 해소하고 건강과 환경을 동시에 지키는 것을 목적으로 소흘읍 행정복지센터와 고모3리 마을회가 협력하여 기획 진행했고, 가족 또는 친구 단위로 모집하여 환경정화 활동과 함께 친목, 화합을 도모할 수 있도록 하였으며, 마스크 착용, 발열 체크 등 코로나19 방역 지침을 철저히 준수하며 진행했다고 말했다.

플로깅에 참여한 한 주민은 “오늘 쓰레기를 주우면서 운동을 하니 기분도 좋고 가족과 함께 좋은 추억도 만들며 환경 보전에도 일조한 것 같아 뿌듯하다.”고 말했다.

최기진 소흘읍장은 “참여해주신 모든분들께 감사하다. 코로나19 장기화로 지친 주민들의 우울감을 해소하고 환경 보호에 동참하는 의미 있는 행사였다.”고 전했다.
