[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 지난 23일 포천시 여성회관 청성홀에서 백영현 포천시장을 비롯해 포천시 각계각층의 기관 단체장으로 구성된 인문도시 조성 추진협의회 위원과 시민 등 200여 명이 함께한 가운데 시민 참여 포럼 ‘인문도시 포천으로 가는 길’을 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.

이날 1부 행사로는 KBS ‘이슈 픽 샘과 함께’의 특별 신년 기획 방송 초빙 강연자인 성공회대학교 교양학부 김찬호 교수의 기조 강연을 시작으로, 학교·교육 분야 김현철 이동초등학교 교장, 독서문화 분야 포천시독서동아리네트워크 윤혜린 대표, ‘나는포천맘이다.’ 한성윤 대표, 대경중학교 오채은 학생 등 총 4명의 시민이 각자의 위치에서 생각하는 ‘인문도시 포천으로 가는 길’에 대해 주제 발표를 했다.

2부 행사로는 ‘포천 시민의 삶 속에 인문의 향기를 흠뻑 적신다’는 의미로 인문의 새싹과 나무에 물을 주는 퍼포먼스를 선보였으며, ‘시민이 만들어가는 품격있는 인문도시 포천’ 비전 선포식을 통해 인문도시 포천 조성 사업의 시작을 대내외적으로 천명했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “‘시민이 과연 행복할까?’라는 관점에서 인문 사업을 추진해 시민이 진정으로 원하는 인문도시 포천을 구현할 것이다.”며, “시민이 포천의 주인이 되어 인문 정책 수립 및 사업 추진 시 함께 참여할 수 있는 다양한 통로를 마련하도록 최선을 다할 것이다.”고 밝혔다.

한편, 포천시는 지난 2월 14개 읍면동 행복학습센터 내 인문학당 전면 구축을 시작으로, 4월부터는 인문, 교양 등 다양한 주제의 수준 높은 명사 초청 인문학 강연인 ‘인문학 첫걸음을 걷다.’, 포천의 명현을 통해 인문의 향기를 느끼는 ‘포천 인문 살롱’, 시민이 직접 강의하는 릴레이 인문 강좌 ‘월간 인포’, 인문도시 포천 발전 방향에 대한 공론의 장인 ‘인문 포천 포럼’, 다채로운 인문동아리 지원 사업 등 인문 문화 확산을 통해 사람다움이 넘치는 다 함께 더불어 행복한 인문도시 포천을 구현하고 있다.
