[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 돌봄과 안전이 구현되는 여성친화도시 조성을 위해 활동 중인 '제2기 시민참여단'을 대상으로 16일 워크숍을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

시민참여단은 도로 및 교통시설(주차장, 정류장, 횡단보도 등), 문화시설, 체육시설, 휴식 공간 등 마을 곳곳의 제반 환경과 안전 사항을 모니터링하여 실생활 속에서 느꼈던 불편함과 불안한 요소들을 직접 찾아서 정책에 반영하고 개선하는 역할을 하고 있다.

시 관계자는 “여성친화도시 조성은 5년, 10년간의 오랜 시간이 소요되는 일이고, 지속적인 변화와 발전을 위해서는 다양한 분야의 시민들이 관심을 갖고 적극적으로 참여하여야 한다”라고 전했다.
