[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월군은 2022년 어린 물고기 방류사업에 5700만원을 투자하여 쏘가리 치어 등 4종 150만 마리를 남한강 일원에 방류하였다.

내수면 어족자원 증식으로 어업인의 소득증대와 유어 관광객이 다시 찾는 하천을 만들기 위하여 6월 11일 쏘가리 치어를 시작으로 11월 18일 곳체다슬기 방류까지 완료하였다.

또한 강원도내수면자원센터에서는 자체 육성한 뱀장어, 대농갱이, 동자개, 곳체다슬기 등 4종 26만5천마리를 무상으로 지원하여 영월군 하천의 어족자원 증대에 큰 도움이 되었다.

최근 전국적으로 민물가마우지로 인한 내수면 어족자원 피해가 심각해지는 가운데 영월군에서는 2019년부터 2022년까지 24회에 걸쳐 토속 어종인 미유기 등 6종 250만마리의 어린 물고기를 방류하였다.

불법어업행위 단속도 강화하여 2022년 11월 10일 심야에 수산자원보호명예감시관, 주천파출소와 합동으로 주천강에서 배터리를 사용하여 쏘가리 7마리를 포획한 불법어업자 1명을 적발하는 등 2019년부터 2022년까지 63회의 단속을 실시하여 22건을 적발하였고 그 중 고발 5건, 경찰관서 인계 7건, 과태료부과 10건의 조치를 취하여 어족자원 보호에 힘쓰고 있다.
