[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 영유아 부모의 안정적 경제활동 지원과 돌봄 사각지대 해소를 위해 ‘달빛·별빛어린이집’ 야간연장 보육을 지난 1일부터 시작했다고 밝혔다. 

대상자는 어린이집 또는 유치원에서 재원하고 있는 영유아이며 야간보육어린이집으로 지정된 어린이집의 원아가 아니더라도 신청 가능하다.

시는 야간연장 보육 서비스를 통해 돌봄 사각지대 해소에 기여하고, 어린이집 운영 내실화를 위한 교육 및 프로그램을 발굴·보급해 보육 서비스의 질적 수준을 향상할 수 있도록 노력할 계획이다.

시 관계자는 “현재는 시범 운영으로 적은 원아들이 이용하고 있지만 많은 홍보를 통해 맞벌이 가정 등에서 마음 편히 아이를 맡길수 있도록 연장보육 등 서비스를 지속적으로 실현해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
