[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 안흥천과 신천으로 유입되는 빗물과 생활하수를 분류하여 배출하도록 하기 위해 오수관을 별도로 매설하는 윗안흥동 우·오수 분류화 공사를 추진한다고 밝혔다.

동두천시는 2025년까지 국비 포함 25억원을 들여 하수 미처리 지역인 윗안흥동에 하수관 2.76㎞를 새로 매설하고, 90가구에 배수설비를 갖추는 ‘윗안흥동 하수관로 분류화 공사’를 추석 이후에 착공한다고 밝혔다.

공사 구간은 시립묘지 삼거리(신흥중·고 야구장)∼윗안흥동 마을로, 공사 완료 시 빗물은 인근 안흥천으로 유입되고 생활하수는 전량 하수처리장으로 유입되어 하천 수질이 크게 개선되어 하수처리 효율을 높일 수 있게 된다.

동두천시 환경사업소장은 “가정에서 배출되는 생활하수를 오수관에 직접 연결하여 정화조 청소가 필요하지 않고 하천오염을 방지할 수 있어 주민들의 주거환경 개선에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.
