[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 오는 25일 광주역세권 도시개발사업에 의해 조성된 도람근린공원(광주시 역동 176-25)을 개장했다고 밝혔다.

도람근린공원은 광주역세권 도시개발지구 내 위치하며, 지역주민의 의견을 반영하여 조성된 주민참여공원이고, 공원은 2023년 개장 예정이었으나, 최근 지속되는 무더위로 지친 주민들이 집 근처에서 피서를 즐길 수 있도록 조기 개장했다. 

공원은 지역주민, 관계기관이 참여하는 간담회를 통해 제안된 생태환경 교육을 위한 생태놀이터, 생태숲 등 생태체험 시설과 물놀이장 등의 내용을 반영했으며, 물놀이장은 오는 8월 21일까지 매주 월요일과 우천 시를 제외하고 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영될 예정이다. 

GH 관계자는 “주민참여공원은 지역주민과 공공기관이 적극적으로 협력한 그린인프라 확충의 대표적인 사례로써 큰 의미가 있다”며 “주민참여공원 이외에도 도시개발사업지구 내 생태숲 등을 활용한 산림탄소상쇄제도 인증을 추진하는 등 친환경 ESG경영에 최선의 노력을 다하고 있다”고 밝혔다.

한편 광주역세권 도시개발사업은 경기도 남ㆍ동부권의 경쟁력 있는 역세권 도시 조성을 위해 GH, 광주시, 광주도시관리공사가 공동 시행을 맡아, 경기광주역 일대에 주거단지와 상업ㆍ산업시설을 결합한 역세권 복합개발 사업이다.
