[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원]  평창국제평화영화제가 올해 새로운 방식의 섹션 ‘위드 시네마’를 선보인다. 

‘위드 시네마’는 영화제 슬로건과 동일한 이름의 섹션으로, 다양한 주제에 대해 풍성하게 이야기를 나눌 수 있는 토크 프로그램으로 올해에는 세 편의 영화가 초대돼 관객과 만난다. 

첫 번째 영화는 아니 에르노의 자전적 원작 소설 [사건]을 생생하게 재구성 작품으로 작년 베니스 영화제에서 황금사자상을 수상한 오드리 디완 감독의 '레벤느망'이다. 

'레벤느망'은 낙태가 불법이던 1960년대 프랑스에서 한 대학생이 우여곡절 끝에 낙태하게 되는 과정을 그린 작품으로 여성 인권 주제를 감각적으로 표현했다. 한국 작가 최연소로 부커상 인터내셔널 부문 후보에 오른 박상영 작가와 함께, 이 영화의 서사와 캐릭터에 대해 이야기를 나누는 시간이 마련된다. 

지난해 베니스영화제에서 페넬로페 크루즈에게 여우주연상을 안겨 준 페드로 알모도바르의 '패러렐 마더스'도 상영된다. 

이 영화는 연령도 사회적 지위도 전혀 다른 두 여성이 같은 시기에 출산하기 위해 찾은 병원에서 운명처럼 서로 얽히면서 벌어지는 이야기를 다루고 있다. 언제나 진취적이고 도발적인 여성 캐릭터들의 앙상블을 돋보이게 연출하는 알모도바르 감독의 작품 세계를 배우연구소 백은하 소장과 함께 들여다본다. 

정재은 감독의 다큐멘터리 '고양이들의 아파트'는 거대한 재건축 단지에 사는 길고양이들의 이주 프로젝트를 위해 동분서주하는 캣맘 이야기를 그린 영화다. 동물권행동 카라의 전진경 대표와 함께 길고양이의 삶을 들여다보고 인간과 동물, 자연과 인간의 관계에 대해 고찰하는 시간이 마련된다. 

평창국제평화영화제 최은영 프로그래머는 “위드 시네마는 영화가 품고 있는 다양한 토픽을 풍성하게 해줄 명사들과 함께하며 관객들에게 새로운 경험을 전달하는 프로그램이다. 위드 시네마를 통해 함께 영화보고 이야기하는 즐거움을 만끽하시길 바란다“고 전했다.

Director Jung Jae-eun's documentary 'Cats' Apartment' is a film that tells the story of a cat mom who struggles for a migration project of stray cats living in a huge reconstruction complex. A time will be prepared to look into the lives of feral cats and to consider the relationship between humans and animals, and nature and humans with Jin-Kyung Jeon, CEO of Animal Rights Action KARA.

Programmer Eunyoung Choi of the Pyeongchang International Peace Film Festival said, “With Cinema is a program that delivers a new experience to the audience with celebrities who will enrich the various topics of the film.
