[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 최근 시정홍보와 쾌적한 도시미관조성을 위한 저단형 현수막 지정게시대 확충 사업을 완료했다고 밝혔다.

작년 12월 기준 현수막 지정게시대의 수량은 총 114기로 그 중 행정용 현수막 게시대는 19기가 운영되고 있지만, 무분별한 공공용 현수막 게시를 방지하면서 시정 홍보를 극대화하기 위해 약 2천 6백만 원을 투입해 공공용 현수막 게시대를 저단형 7기를 신규로 설치하고 노후 현수막 게시대 6단형 1기를 교체 설치 완료했다고 전했다.

저단형 현수막 게시대의 장점은 높이가 낮아 바람의 영향을 적게 받고, 설치 위치를 지정함에 있어 큰 어려움이 없으며, 또한 보행자와 운전자의 시야를 방해하지 않으면서도 쉽게 게시물을 확인할 수 있으므로 이는 시정홍보에도 효과적일 것이라고 판단된다고 했다.

저단형 현수막 게시대는 종합운동장 앞과 의정부역, 동일로 사거리, 신곡고가 옆 사거리 등 대로변과 불법 현수막이 많이 걸린 곳 중심으로 설치됐으며, 현재 운영은 옥외광고물등의 관리와 옥외광고산업 진흥에 관한 법률 시행령 제3조 제11호와 의정부시 옥외광고물 등 관리 조례 제19조에 광고물 지정 게시대 위탁관리·운영 업체에서 담당하고 있다고 했다.

김상래 건축디자인과장은 “저단형 공공용 현수막 지정 게시대를 활용해 의정부시의 정책과 각종 행사를 보다 효율적으로 홍보할 수 있기를 기대하고 지속적으로 올바른 광고문화 정착을 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
