[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 환경부 원주지방환경청은 2020년도 한강수계관리기금 성과평가에서 관내 6개 지자체가 최우수 및 우수기관으로 선정되었다고 밝혔다.

한강수계관리위원회는 한강수계관리기금을 지원받는 한강수계권역 지자체*를 대상으로 매년 기금운용의 투명성과 사업추진 효율성을 제고를 위해 한강수계관리금 성과평가를 실시하고 있다고 전했다.

* 서울특별시, 인천광역시, 경기도, 강원도, 충청북도

2020년도 성과평가 결과, 원주시, 충주시, 강원도, 제천시, 영월군,  정선군 등 6개 지자체가 8개 사업분야* 중 5개 분야에서 최우수 및 우수기관으로 선정됐다고 했다.

* 주민지원사업, 환경기초시설설치사업, 환경기초시설운영사업, 친환경청정사업, 생태하천복원사업, 상수원관리지역관리사업, 비점오염저감사업, 오염총량관리사업

최우수기관으로는 생태하천복원사업에 원주시, 환경기초시설설치사업과 상수원관리지역관리사업에 충주시가 각각 선정됐으며, 원주시는 단계천의 물길복원 사업을 차질없이 추진하여 생태하천복원사업 분야에서 우수한 평가를 받았다고 했다. 

충주시는 환경기초시설설치와 상수원관리지역관리 2개 분야에서 높은 점수를 받았다. 특히, 작년에 이어 올해도 최우수 기관으로 선정되어 한강상류 수질개선에 크게 기여한 것으로 나타났다고 전했다. 

우수기관으로는 환경기초시설설치사업에 정선군, 환경기초시설운영사업에 제천시 및 영월군, 친환경청정사업에 강원도가 선정됐다고 했다. 

이창흠 원주지방환경청장은 “부진사업은 문제 원인진단과 개선대책 수립 등 집중 관리를 유도하고, 우수사례는 널리 전파하여 지속적인 한강상류 수질개선과 지자체 관리 능력 향상에 기여할 수 있도록 노력하겠다.“ 고 밝혔다.
