[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시 공립 웨스포 어린이집이 사단법인 한국식생활교육학회가 주관한 ‘2021 대한민국 식생활교육대상’에서 금상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

웨스포 어린이집은 그동안 원아들과 함께 텃밭 활동, 농촌체험 활동 등을 통해 2019년 강원도 식생활교육 우수사례 경진대회에서 최우수상을 받았으며, 같은 해 원주시 급식관리지원센터 우수 어린이급식소에 선정되기도 했으며, 특히 지난해 식생활네트워크 표창을 받는 등 원아들의 안전한 식생활을 위해 다양한 노력을 펼쳐왔다고 했다.

이를 바탕으로 ‘2021 대한민국 식생활교육대상’에서 금상을 수상한 웨스포 어린이집은 지난 11월 12일 서울 aT센터 그랜드홀에서 열린 시상식에서 농림축산식품부장관 상장과 상금 3백만 원을 받았다고 전했다.

박경희 원장은 “대한민국 식생활교육대상에서 금상을 수상하게 돼 무한한 영광”이라며, “모든 활동에 적극적으로 참여한 우리 웨스포 친구들과 학부모님, 그리고 교직원들과 함께 기쁨을 나누고 싶다.”며“앞으로도 아이들의 발달에 적합한 다양한 놀이와 체험을 발굴해 흙이 주는 고마움을 알게 하고, 나아가 미래 환경을 생각하는 아이들로 자랄 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
