[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 1일 캠코는 부산광역시청에서 신흥식 캠코 사장 직무대행, 이병진 부산광역시 행정부시장, 서정의 대한적십자사 부산지사회장 등이 참석한 가운데, 부산지역 코로나19 대응 의료진 응원을 위해 5천만원 상당의 물품을 부산광역시에 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 물품 전달은 장기간 코로나19 대응을 위해 분투하고 있는 부산지역 16개 보건소와 4개 선별진료소 의료진 1,200여명에게 응원과 노고에 감사하는 마음을 전달하기 위해 마련됐다고 했다. 

캠코는 응원물품 마련을 위해, 지난 9월 27일부터 1개월간 ‘1억 걸음기부 캠페인’을 통해 매칭그랜트 방식*으로 기부금 5천만원을 조성하고, 사회적기업이 폐플라스틱을 재활용해 만든 에코백, 우산 등 업사이클링 선물을 준비했다고 했다.

특히, 걸음기부 캠페인에는 신흥식 사장 직무대행을 비롯한 임직원 1,433명이 자발적으로 참여해, 한 달 동안 3억 걸음 넘게 함께 걷는 등 목표한 1억 걸음을 3배 이상 초과했다고 전했다. 

신흥식 캠코 사장 직무대행은 “감사와 응원에 더해 사회적기업이 만든 업사이클링 제품으로 마음을 전달할 수 있어서 더욱 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, 앞으로도 캠코는 사회적 가치 실천과 지속가능한 사회를 만들어 가는데 늘 앞장서 가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 캠코는 지난 5월에도 임직원 1,321명이 2.87억 걸음을 모아 조성한 기부금 1억원으로 부산 유엔기념공원 나무심기 사업을 지원한 바 있다고 했다.
