[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월 19일 의정부시의회는 의원회의실에서 ‘제50회 시민의날’ 기념 지역사회 및 지방자치 발전 유공자에게 표창 수여식을 개최하였다고 밝혔다.

이날 수여식은 매년 시민의날 기념행사에서 표창을 수여해 왔으나, 계속되고 있는 코로나-19 사회적 거리두기 4단계에 따라 지난 2020년에 이어 간소하게 진행되었으며, 특히 올해는 참여 인원 축소 및 분산을 위해 시간대를 달리하여 1부, 2부로 나누어 실시함으로써 혹시 모를 코로나19 예방 및 확산 방지를 위해 노력하였다고 전했다.

오범구 의장은 “지속되는 코로나-19로 어려운 여건 속에서도 의정부 발전을 위해 보이지 않는 곳에서 묵묵히 맡은 바 역할을 수행해 오신 수상자 여러분께 축하와 감사를 드리며, 앞으로도 의정부 발전을 위해 힘써 주실 것을 당부하고, 시민 모두가 적극적인 코로나19 예방 참여로 하루 빨리 코로나가 종식되어 내년에는 행사장에서 많은 시민이 참여한 가운데 표창 수여식을 갖기를 희망한다”고 말했다.
