보조금 지원대상은 공고일 기준 사용본거지가 의정부시인 배출가스 5등급 경유자동차 및 건설기계 소유자로, 시는 올해 2월부터 신청받아 8월 현재 조기폐차는 1,224대, 저감장치는 537대를 선정했다고 말했다. 

이병택 환경관리과장은 "향후 조기폐차 1천여 대, 저감장치 300여 대를 추가로 지원할 계획이라"며 "연초와 달리 하반기에 접어들자 경유차 소유자들의 사업신청이 저조해지고 있다며, 예산이 소진되면 연말에 지원할 수 없으니 12월 계절관리제가 시행되기 전 서둘러 신청해달라고" 촉구하고 있다.
