이번 캠페인은 관내 초·중·고에 재학 중인 학생 및 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 올바른 플라스틱 분리수거 실천방법을 안내하며, 오는 7월 한 달 간 운영된다고 말했다. 

동두천시 제1기 어린이, 청소년 의원들은 이번 청소년 환경 캠페인을 통해 스스로 환경에 대해 관심을 가지고, 직접 캠페인을 기획하고, 투표를 통해 홍보문구를 선정하여 활동하는 등 지역 청소년의 대표로서 역할을 하며, 주변 청소년들에게도 귀감이 되고 있다고 했다.

환경 캠페인 참여방법으로는 플라스틱 분리수거 실천 후 학교나 관공서에 부착된 캠페인 홍보문과 함께 사진을 찍고, 본인 계정 SNS에 인증하면 되고, 청소년 환경 캠페인에 참여하는 선착순 학생 30명에게는 소정의 혜택이 주어져, 청소년들에게 큰 호응을 얻을 것이라 예상된다고 했다.
