이날 정담회에서 학교장들은 동두천시 아동·청소년 무상 교통 지원과 관내 고등학교 졸업생의 지역 인재 취업 강화 등을 제안했다고 말했다.

최용덕 시장은 “지역의 특수성에 따른 어려운 재정여건에도 교육지원은 아낌없이 지원하고 있으며, 정담회에서 제안된 사항에 대하여 적극 검토하여, 정책에 반영하겠다”고 밝혔다.
