[김택곤 기자=정선군] 강원지방우정청에서는 1986년에 준공되어 37년이 경과되어 건물 노후화와 안정성, 열악한 근무환경 등 청사 신축의 필요성을 느껴 임계면에 새롭게 테마청사 건립을 추진하고 있다. 

새롭게 신축되는 임계 테마청사는 획일적이고 통일적인 외관을 과감히 탈피해 도시재생의 선도모델로 거듭나기 위해 고랭지 명품 정선 사과로 자리잡고 있는 임계 특산물 사과 모형을 청사 외벽에 세워 더욱 친근감 있고 신뢰받는 우정서비스를 제공하기 위해 사업을 추진한다.

이번에 새롭게 신축되는 청사는 대지면적 857㎡, 건축 면적 512㎡ 지상 1층 규모로 2023년 9월 말 준공을 목표로 추진하고 있다.

아울러 임계우체국 청사 신축을 위해 오는 2월 27일부터 10월 31일까지 임계종합복지회관 옆 산불감시초소에서 우편 및 금융서비스를 제공한다.
