[김준호 기자=삼척시] '2023 원더풀 삼척컵 전국유소년축구클럽 페스티벌'이 삼척복합체육공원과 삼척종합운동장에서 오는 2월 3일부터 7일까지 5일간 열린다. 

한국유소년축구연합회가 주최·주관하는 이번 대회에는 U-8~U-12 등 초등학교 2학년부터 6학년까지 5개 학년 총 42개 축구팀과 관계자, 감독, 학부모 등 1,500여 명이 참여할 예정이다.

경기방식은 U-8, 9, 10(초등학교 2~4학년)은 전·후반 각 15분, 10분 휴식, 6인제 경기, 1심제로, U-11, 12(초등학교 5~6학년)는 전·후반 각 20분, 10분 휴식, 8인제 경기, 2심제로 풀리그와 토너먼트 경기방식 등으로 진행된다.

삼척시 관계자는 “이번 축구대회로 선수, 임원, 학부모 등 많은 인원이 우리 지역을 방문하여 체류하면서 겨울철 비수기 숙박업과 외식업 등 지역 경제 활성화에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.”고 말했다.

한편, 시는 방문 선수들과 관계자들에게 2월 3일부터 2월 5일까지 열리는 삼척정월대보름제 행사를 적극적으로 홍보함으로써 축제와 연계한 지역 경기 활성화 효과를 극대화하고, 삼척정월대보름제 행사가 전국규모의 행사로 발돋움할 수 있도록 힘쓸 계획이다.
