[서종협 기자 = 평창군] 강원도사회복지사협회 평창군지회(회장 김미숙)에서 주관하는 제1회 평창군사회복지사 워크숍이 15일 휘닉스 평창호텔에서 심재국 평창군수를 비롯하여 평창군의회의장, 각 기관단체 외 관내 사회복지사와 시설종사자 등 100여 명이 참석하였으며, ‘평창군 사회복지사의 역할’에 대한 원탁토론 이외에도 사회복지사 선서, 유공자 표창, 우수 사회복지기관 소개 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 진행되었다고 밝혔다.

처음으로 열린 워크숍은 평창군의 사회복지사 및 관계자들이 함께 모여 의견을 공유하고 우리지역의 사회복지 발전방향을 모색한다는 점에서 평창군의 군정기조인 ‘함께하는 공감의 행복복지’로 한걸음 더 나아갈 것으로 기대한다.

사회복지 분야가 점점 확대되면서 주민이 요구하는 사회복지 서비스도 다양하게 늘어나고 있으나, 사회복지사의 근무환경이나 처우는 어려운 것이 사실이다. 이에 평창군은 2018년 ‘평창군 사회복지사 등의 처우 및 지위향상 지원에 관한 조례’를 제정하여 사기진작과 처우 개선 등에 관한 지원 근거를 마련하였다.

심재국 평창군수는 “사회복지사의 열악한 근무환경 개선과 권익향상을 위하여 적극 노력하겠다”라며, “앞으로도 동역자로서 하나된 평창, 행복한 군민을 위해 함께 뛰어 주시기를 부탁드린다”라고 말하였다.
