[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월고등학교 지리앎 동아리 학생들은 ‘시골이라 청소년들이 놀 데가 없다’는 지역 문제를 해결하고자 워킹그룹과 함께 청소년 지도 ‘영월 놀기 쉽대!’를 제작했다.

영월문화도시지원센터 리빙랩 사업의 일환으로 영월엔 청소년이 이용할 곳이 없다고 느껴 제천이나 원주 등으로 이동하는 또래 친구들과 캠핑이나 관광지 위주로 여행해 온 외지인 청소년들을 대상으로 제작했다.

청소년이 주축이 되어 고향인 영월에 관심을 갖고 구체적으로 지역 발전에 참여할 기회를 제공하여 청소년도 주체성을 갖고 지역 시민으로 활동하도록 지원했다.

참여한 청소년들은 ‘청소년 지도가 필요하다’는 제안에 기꺼이 실험할 수 있는 기회를 제공해주는 도시에 살고 있어 영월에 대한 자부심이 커졌다고 말했다. 특히 영월고등학교 3학년 엄석현은 “리빙랩을 통해 새로운 문화 창출 가능성도 알게 되었다. 커뮤니티 맵핑을 통해 영월의 문화를 더욱 다채롭게 만들고 싶다,”고 밝혔다.
