[김택곤 기자 = 영월군] 강원도 영월에 위치한 조선민화박물관(관장 오석환)이 다가오는 11월 2일부터 7일까지 서울 한국미술관에서'민화의 비상전'을 개최한다. 

'민화의비상전'은 2019년 시작한 시리즈 전시로 현대민화의 ‘현대성’과 ‘방법론’을 실험하는 최초의 시도이다. 당시 서울 예술의전당 한가람미술관 제7관에서 8일간 6,000여 명의 관람객을 동원하며 민화 전시의 역사를 새로 썼다는 평가를 받았다.

올해에는 ‘민화, 조선시대 팝 아트’라는 주제로 조선민화박물관 소장품 중 팝 아트가 관찰되는 유물과 이 전시를 위해 선정된 29인의 현대민화 작가들의 작품을 한자리에서 만나볼 수 있게 된다. 올해에는 특히 민화뿐 아니라 예술계의 원로 작가들 4명이 초청작가로 합류해 더 풍성한 전시가 될 것으로 예상한다. 

조선민화박물관에서 주관하는 국내 최초 민화 전문 공모전인 '2022 전국민화공모전'수상작 특별전도 같은 기간 한국미술관에서 함께 개최하면서 민화 축제의 장이 될 전망이다. 

올해의 '민화의 비상전'은 11월 10일부터 12월 25일까지 영월관광센터에서 앵콜 전시도 예정돼 있다.
