[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지난 3일, 보산역 문화관광특구에서 「제9회 동두천시 청소년 진로체험박람회」를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

올해 9회째 맞는 이번 행사는 지역 청소년들의 진로탐색과 직업의식 고취를 위해 2012년부터 매년 개최되어왔으나 코로나19로 인해 3년 만에 열리게 됐다. 

행사는 동두천시가 주최하고, 법사랑위원동두천지구협의회와 동두천양주교육지원청, 동두천시청소년상담복지센터 공동주관으로 진행됐으며, “꿈꾸는 청소년, 미래의 나를 접속하다”라는 주제로 진로상담존, 진학상담존, 진로정보존, 직업체험존, 이벤트존, 동아리존, 패션쇼, 동아리 발표 등 다양한 영역별 프로그램이 운영됐다.

<진로상담존>에서는 전문상담사의 직업심리검사와 상담을 진행하고, <진로정보존과 체험존>에서는 다양한 분야의 직업인들과 만나 직업체험을 통한 생생한 정보를 제공했다.

또 <진학상담존>에서는 동두천고등학교, 외식과학고, 한국문화영상고에서 고교입시 안내와 푸드트럭 체험을 제공했고, 경복대학교, 동양대학교, 서정대학교, 신한대학교 등 입학처와 여러 학과의 대입진학 관련 상담이 진행됐다.

이와 함께 전국 멘토링봉사단 소속 대학생 20여명이 참여해 일대일 멘토단이 전공별 특성과 진로에 대한 정보를 제공했으며 <진로패션쇼>라는 특별 이벤트가 마련되어 패션모델을 꿈꾸는 지역 청소년들과 전국 고교패션컬렉션 소속 청소년들이 함께 연출한 멋진 무대가 펼쳐지기도 했다. 

특히 이번 행사는 침체되어 있던 보산동 문화관광특구를 살려 청소년들과 청년, 지역주민들이 다양한 예술·문화활동과 마을축제들로 활력을 불어 넣어보자는 취지에서 행사장소를 선정했다. 

이번 행사를 공동 주관한 법사랑위원동두천지구협의회 이철훈 회장은 “이번 박람회를 통해 청소년들이 미래 자신의 직업과 진로를 선택하는 데 도움이 되기를 바라며, 더불어 다양한 청소년 문화활동과 여가생활에 도움이 될 수 있는 기회의 장을 만드는 데 힘쓰겠다”라고 말했다.
