[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 30일, 동두천시는 생연동 594-1번지에서 '행복드림센터(시민수영장) 건립공사 기공식'을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

행복드림센터(시민수영장) 건립사업은 제2차 경기도 지역균형발전 사업으로 선정, 총사업비 274억원(국비 30억, 도비 154억, 시비 90억)이 투입되는 생활 SOC사업으로 지상5층, 건축연면적 7,764㎡ 규모로 건립될 예정이라고 전했다.

주요 시설로는 기존 지하주차장의 기능을 유지하면서 초등학생들이 생존수영을 배울 수 있는 수영장(25미터, 6레인)과 키즈헬스케어센터, 실내놀이터, 사무실 등이 들어선다. 키즈헬스케어센터는 영·유아의 6대 신체발달 사항을 체크하고 실내놀이터, GX룸, 장난감도서관 등과 연계해 이를 보완해 주는 체계로 운영되며, 지상5층 사무실 공간은 시청 별관으로 사용할 계획이라고 했다.

동두천시 관계자는 “동두천시 원도심에 수영장, 키즈헬스케어센터, 사무실 등이 포함된 복합건축물이 건립되면 시민 생활환경 개선은 물론 유동인구 증가에 따른 원도심 활성화에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
