[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 올해 포천시는 장애인과 가족이 인간다운 삶과 안정적인 가정생활을 누릴 수 있도록 시 최초 장애인복지 종합계획을 수립한다고 전했다.

지난 22일 포천시는 포천시청 시정회의실에서 장애인복지위원회 위원 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 향후 5년간의 장애인복지 종합계획 수립을 위한 포천시 장애인복지위원회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의에서는 그동안 지역 특성을 반영한 장애인복지정책 관련 종합계획의 부재로 중앙정부 또는 경기도 사업에 의존해 다소 단편적인 장애인 복지정책을 수행 할 수밖에 없던 점에 대한 문제를 공유했다고 했다. 

또한 장애인 권리의식에 기반한 다양한 복지수요에 대응하고 장애인과 그 가족의 건강한 자립생활을 지원할 수 있는 종합적인 시책 마련이 시급한 것에 대해 공감대를 조성했다고 했다.

이에 포천시는 지역의 장애인과 장애인 가족의 희망이 될 수 있는 실질적이고 실행력을 갖춘 계획안 마련을 위해 오는 3월 중 경기복지재단을 통해 연구용역을 추진하고 연구용역 결과를 반영해 8월 장애인복지 종합계획을 수립할 계획이라고 전했다.

박윤국 시장은 “우리시는 장애인과 비장애인이 모두가 행복한 도시를 만들기 위해 그 첫 도약으로 2019년 포천시 장애인복지증진을 위한 기본조례를 제정했다. 실질적이고 실효성을 갖춘 수요자 중심의 지속 가능한 정책을 수립해 복지 체감도가 향상될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”면서 “장애인이 불편함 없이 마음껏 일상을 누릴 수 있는 풍요로운 포천시를 만들어 가겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

한편, 포천시 장애인복지위원회는 2019년 장애인 및 사회복지 현장 전문가, 학계 관계자, 공무원 등으로 구성되어 장애인복지정책 및 장애인복지 관련 사업에 대해 다양한 제언을 하고있다고 전했다.
