[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 30일 양주시체육회는 회천2동 행정복지센터 회의실에서 사단(특수)법인 설립을 위한 창립총회를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 총회는 손경준 법인설립준비위원장을 비롯한 준비위원 5명이 참석한 가운데 체육회 정관, 체육회 임원 선임, 재산출연 사항, 주사무소 설치 등 법인설립을 위한 안건을 심의ㆍ의결하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

체육회는 지난해 12월 국민체육진흥법 개정안이 공포됨에 따라 법인설립 준비위원회 구성을 시작으로 법인화를 추진해왔으며 총회 이후 주무관청 양주시에 법인 인가를 받아 오는 6월 9일까지 관할 법원에 법인 설립 등기를 마치면 체육복지 등 지방체육 진흥을 위한 법적인 권리와 지위를 확보하게 되는 사단(특수)법인 양주시체육회로 출범하게 된다고 했다. 

조순광 회장은 “초대민선회장으로서 막중한 책임감을 가지고 있다”며 “법 인화를 계기로 체육회의 안정화를 꾀하고 안정적인 재원확보를 통해 시 발전에 보탬이 되고 시민들의 기대에 부응할 수 있는 체육회가 되겠다”고 전했다. 

손경준 법인설립준비위원장은 “위원장으로서 이런 중요한 자리에 참석하게 되어 영광스럽다”며 “법인화를 통해 양주시체육회가 더욱 발전할 수 있길 기원하며 법인화 진행이 잘 마무리될 수 있도록 함께하겠다”고 전했다.

양주시 관계자는 “민간이 주도하는 사단법인 전환을 계기로 자율성과 전문성이 강화되고 체육진흥 활성화에 기여하는 양주시체육회가 되길 기대한다”고 전했다.
