[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 28일 동두천시 생연2동 행복복지센터와 생연파출소가 관할 주민들의 치안과 복지사각지대 발굴 및 지역사회 통합을 위한 상호간 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

처음으로 맺은 이번 협약은 ‘복지사각지대 발굴을 통한 지역주민의 복지향상’을 위한 일환으로 추진됐고, 이번 협약을 계기로 생연파출소는 생연2동행정복지센터의 요청이 들어오면 정신질환자·알코올중독자 등 위험이 수반되는 대상자를 현장 방문할 때 복지담당공무원과 동행하고, 생연2동행정복지센터는 경찰관 업무수행 중 도움이 필요한 취약계층을 발견하고 의뢰하면 찾아가는 복지상담을 통해 적절한 복지서비스를 제공할 계획이라고 했다.  

김광섭 생연파출소장은 “관할 복지사각지대 해소를 통해 주민들의 삶의 질이 향상된다면 범죄도 예방하고 사건 피해자들이 겪어야 하는 2차 피해를 막을 수 있다”며 “이를 계기로 적극적으로 협조하여 시민안전에 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.

김일 생연2동장은 “생연파출소와 업무협약을 통해 보다 안전한 행정복지센터를 운영하고, 경찰과 동 복지담당자들의 업무 협조를 통해 시민들에게 더 좋은 행정서비스를 제공하기 위한 다양한 협업을 추진하도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
