[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 30일 동두천시 생활개선회는 스투키 등 다육식물 180개를 사회복지시설에 전달하였다.

40명의 회원으로 결성된 생활개선회는 농가생활의 질 향상을 위한 농촌생활개선사업을 선도적으로 실천하는 농촌여성단체로서 직접 키운 다육식물 180개를 사회복지시설 60개소에 전달하였다고 했다.

이순자 회장은 “코로나19 장기화 및 거리두기 강화로 사회적 고립감을 더욱 크게 느낄 사회복지시설 이용자분들이 반려식물을 통해 우울증 극복과 정서적 안정에 도움이 되었으면 좋겠다”고 밝혔다.

최용덕 동두천시장은 “생활개선회원이 함양하고 있는 재능을 활용한 지역돌봄사업으로 농촌여성리더로서의 역량을 강화하고 앞으로도 차별화된 재능나눔을 통해 취약계층에게 도움이 되는 다양한 활동을 해주길 바란다”고 말했다.
