[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 27일 동두천시는 종합운동장을 방문하여 체육꿈나무인 G-스포츠클럽 육상부를 찾아 유소년 선수들과 지도강사를 격려했다고 밝혔다.

지난 6월 경북 예천군에서 열린 ‘제49배 KBS 전국 육상경기대회’에 송내중앙중학교 선수 4명이 출전해 김예훈 선수가 경보 3000m 경기에서 1위의 성적을 거둔바 있으며, 동두천시 G-스포츠클럽 육상부는 생연초 등 5개 학교에서 12명의 학생이 선수로 참여하고 있다고 했다. 

이날 최용덕 시장은 “연일 폭염이 지속되는 날씨에 야외에서 운동하는 선수들이 충분한 휴식시간을 취하고, 코로나19로 힘든 여건이지만 방역수칙을 잘 준수하며 훈련에 임해 줄 것을 당부한다”고 말했다.
