[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7월 15일부터 23일까지 동두천시 전진석 부시장은 집중호우·태풍 등 여름철 재해 대비 시설점검 등을 위해 주요 현장 방문을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문에서는 재난 예·경보시설, 탑동계곡 편익시설 조성사업, 한국수자원공사, 동두천시 치유의 숲 조성사업, 공영주차장 조성사업, 동두천 송내동~양주 하패리 연결교량 설치공사, 부처고개 위험도로 구조개선사업, 소요산IC 연결교량 설치공사, 상패근린공원 조성사업, 생연근린공원 조성사업 등 16곳의 현장을 방문하여 담당 팀장으로부터 현황을 보고 받고 문제점과 대책을 논의하는 등 현장행정을 실시했다고 했다.

특히 지난 15일 ‘경기도 청정계곡 도민환원 관련 도-시군 영상회의’에 참석한 이후 탑동계곡을 방문하여 불법시설물의 철거 이행여부 등을 점검하였으며, 계곡을 이용하는 시민들의 의견을 청취했다고 했다.

또한 시민들의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위한 계곡 내 예·경보 시설과 하봉암동 사방댐, 빗물펌프장 등을 방문하여 시설을 점검했다고 전했다.

이어 한국수자원공사 동두천수도관리단을 방문하여 시민들이 안심하고  깨끗한 물을 사용할 수 있도록 취수장, 정수장 등 상수도시설을 점검했다고 했다.

전진석 부시장은 사업현장을 찾아 추진상황과 재해대책을 보고 받은 후 올해는 작년과 같은 긴 장마가 아닌 국지성 집중호우가 예상되는 만큼 인명과 재산피해가 한 건도 발생하지 않도록 안전점검에 철저를 기해 줄 것을 당부했다.
