섶다리는 통나무, 소나무가지, 진흙으로 놓여진 임시다리를 말하는데, 강을 사이에 둔 마을주민들의 왕래를 위해 매년 물이 줄어든 10월말 경에 놓았다가 여름철 물이 불어나기전 5월 경 철수한다. 전통을 계승·발전시키고자 매년 이맘때 개최되고 있으며, 많은 관광객과 사진작가들이 찾아오는 명실상부한 지역대표 축제로 자리매김했다.

이번 축제는 재즈·농악·트롯·장구병창 등의 다양한 문화공연이 진행되고, 특히, 상여재현 행사를 통해 주민과 관람객들에게 색다르고 특별한 볼거리도 선사했다.

축제위원회장은 “사라져가는 우리의 전통문화를 재현함으로써 그 소중함과 가치를 재조명해 볼 수 있는 소중한 계기가 될 것”이라며 “많은 관광객들이 찾아와 뜻깊은 시간을 함께할 수 있기를 바란다”는 희망을 전했다.
